Description
I commissioned Elizabeth Torque to do her own version of Watchmen. When she completed her preliminary drawing in pencil she gave me some options: "The scene is just after Ozymandias strikes down Doctor Manhattan with Bubastis. He then is shot by Silk Spectre, but he stops the bullet with his hand and kicks her. Moments later, a giant Doctor Manhattan reappears behind them. In the sketch we have a sore Silk Spectre, lying on the floor, a squatting Nite Owl, furious over her attack. Ozymandias is at the centre, looking superior, and Doctor Manhattan at his back, behind the widow, as he later appears in the story. Rorschach and the Comedian are not present in the action, but their images are there to remind us of the entire cast." Elizabeth then asked, "I had thought that if you like the idea and that's okay, I can give light and shade effects with pencil, pen and alternating some ink around the edges, in key areas." I went with her suggestion and the resulting commission is fabulous! Check out the additional images for the pencil prelim which was also included in the commission price.

The gang's all here! Torque found a layout to include even the absent figures.
