A huge thanks goes out to the most Reverend Dave Johnson and his Devil Pig wrangler/art rep Jason Schachter of Essential Sequential. http://www.essentialsequential.com/ for providing me the rare opportunity to acquire a commission by one of the most respected and most innovative artists working today.

I fell in love with Dave's Superman: Red Son the first time I laid eyes on it. It's a modern day classic. I knew if I ever had a chance to work with Dave on a commission it would have something to do with that story.

So here you have Lex Luthor and his Trophy Wall of Red Son characters. The addition of the lettering, the layout, pretty much everything about this piece sprang from Dave's fertile mind, able drawing hand, innovative and utterly original spirit. Thank you so much Dave and Jason for everything. It's a treasure.

As well this piece was given mention on Comic Book Resources' Robot 6 page after Dave tweeted about completing the commission. It has brought some very welcome attention to many of the wonderful theme collections that are out there and their imaginative owners. I saw this piece on Dave's Deviantart page and immediately fell in love with it. A magazine spread! So cool!
