DescriptionAnne Francis was born September 18, 1930 in Ossining, New York. She was a beautiful blond easily recognized by the mole on her lip. She became a John Robert Powers model at age 6(!) and quickly moved into radio soap work and TV in New York. While only 11, she made her stage debut on Broadway in the 1941 hit "Lady in the Dark". MGM placed her under contract put basically used her as eye candy, so she returned to TV and summer stock to improver her acting. Success there lead to another contract with 20th Century-Fox's Darryl F. Zanuck and she starred in several ingénue roles, but she still couldn't seem to rise above the starlet typecast until 1955-6 when she appeared in Bad Day at Black Rock (1955); Blackboard Jungle (1955); and the sci-fi cult classic Forbidden Planet (1956). Later, she was known for her appearances in two classic "Twilight Zone" episodes and then as the star of Aaron Spelling's "Honey West" (1965).
