Feeling sorry for an old caretaker after her boss, private eye Dan Hurley, laughs off his reports of ghosts haunting the Woodline cemetery, secretary Betty Barstow decides to drop by the graveyard and cheer the watchman up on her way to a costume party. Instead she uncovers a group of counterfeiters using one of the mausoleums as a hideout and makes short work of the gang with her ju-jitsu skills. After reading about her exploits as the "Silver Scorpion", a name given to her because of the emblem on her costume's cape, in the newspapers, Betty decides to continue fighting crime as a masked heroine.

As an encore, the Scorpion foiled the plans of Effendi Mohomad, a confidence man posing as a spiritualist, and then concluded her adventures by restoring the youth and vitality of beautiful Broadway actress Miss Senter, after she had been transformed into a wizened old hag by blackmailer Mr. Black as part of a bizarre extortion scheme.

The Silver Scorpion's debut adventure is signed "Bewell" though the art looks like the work of Harry Sahle, who received credit for the final two installments.
