Description

I first saw this piece online late in 2011 and I was drawn in by the fierce nature and the throwback feel Nathan gave it. Something about it takes me back to some of McFarlane's Amazing Spider man Covers and some of my favorite Miller/Claremont and Buscema/Claremont Japan story lines.

This is an unpublished cover idea Nathan Fox inked on a LARGE board. It's ink over Fox's digital pencils (printed blue line) on 13 by 22 inch bristol. You can check out this piece in full color below.

Nathan creates some of the more viscerally-poignant riffs on classic characters that I've seen, and this cover concept is the poster-child for that theme. It pinpoints everything that I love about that surly little Canadian into a single image. Brilliant, George!
