DescriptionThis is a nice piece of art I was given by Dan DeCarlo shortly before he passed away. I met Dan and his wife Josie (the namesake for Josie and the Pussycats) at Planet Comicon in Overland Park, Kan. Both INCREDIBLY NICE. Spent much of the weekend helping them out, and Dan gave me this at the end of the show. I wasn't as into Archie at the time (that came later!), but spending time with Dan and Josie was such a positive, memorable experience that this piece has always had a lot of sentimental value.Featured characters: Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge Social/Sharing |

This is amazing! If anyone can properly depict Betty and Veronica in fashions from the 1950s and 1960s, it's Dan DeCarlo, who was the premiere artist for the girls for 40 years, starting in the 1950s. Also notable is the entertaining cartoon version of Dan taking us back through the decades in the pin-up. That, along with your personal back-story about meeting Dan and Josie, and the fact that the art was a gift, makes this a very special piece of comic art.
