Description

Apparently, the Human Torch was originally slated to be the guest star for MTiO #22 but it was Thor who teamed up with the ever lovin' blue-eyed Thing instead. These lovely pencils by the dynamic master Gil Kane show what might have been.

I had intended to get various artists to interpret Kane's pencils in ink and maybe even publish the results in some form but I never managed to get the project off the ground. I even had Jeffrey Jones enthusiastically agree to be the first to take a stab at it. Can you imagine?

Sadly, she passed away before I could ever get things going. So many of the greats that I had in mind have left us over the years that I doubt I will ever even attempt to realize that particular dream. Alas!

Very few people have seen this before so I hope there are some folks who will enjoy taking a look at a lost classic by one of all time greats.
