DescriptionCosmic Crossover (Sep, 1980)Bonus Pin-Up of the Trophy Room of the Freedom Brigade and the Sentinels From this great super-sized issue, this nifty pin-up shows the Trophy Room in Freedom's Stronghold and some of the mementos picked up by both groups over the years. It's played host to a few crossover specials as well. Sharp-eyed readers will note the "Heroes Of Other Earths", which shows, in shadow at least, the backs of various heroes from other comic book companies - always a tricky thing to work around whenever the Room appears in a comic. Most of the labels and objects are pretty self-explanatory. Some of note include:
~~~~~~~~ Well, it could have been a real pin-up. This was an idea I had to develop the verisimilitude of a "Standard Comics" publishing history and harkens back to cutaway views of superhero headquarters (not ready for doing all of Freedom's Stronghold just yet) by DC and Marvel, and a bit of a precursor to the Marvel Handbook and DC's Who's Who series. The Brothers Fraim did a bang-up job here based on my random notes, adding their own stuff into the mix. I think it's a really fun piece, hope you do as well. Turnaround time, about a week!! You should definitely hit them up for your own commission. Plus, it can be implied that it continues off the page towards the viewer (Part II?). Some of the artifacts can be found on the PDSH wiki, if you want to look them up ;-) I think by now, TNT Todd (in the nifty mural above the arch) has appeared in more of my commissions than he ever did in comics - yay for comic nerds with "disposable" income! All those years of not being a drug abuser, gambler, or alcoholic are really paying off! Social/Sharing |
