DescriptionI managed to get on to Tom Raney's commission list after a friend tipped me off that it was open (Thanks Patrick!). I knew Tom had another Batman on his list so I figured I would ask for something a little different. I asked him for a beat up pissed off looking Batman getting ready to take it out on somebody. Tom said it sounded like fun, so I then asked him if he would consider putting Bane's fist in the frame to show who Batman was having it out with. Tom CRUSHED it....I cant wait to see this one in person. Thank you Mr Raney I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor everytime I look at it!Social/Sharing |

The perspective is so awesome.. Bane is towering over Batman! First time I've ever been fearful for poor Bats. Killer commission by Mr. Raney, my friend. I love how he took your idea and *ran* with it. :)

Brian, I'm so glad that you (and others) were able to take advantage of my tip. Raney is amazing, and this piece shows it. One of my favorite things is to see Batman beaten down but not out. He's pissed and ready to kick some ASS. Congrats on this buddy. I can see DC picking this up as a future cover. Just AWESOME!!!

This would make one hell of a cover!

Umm....I'd say that "crushed it" is among the understatements of the year. This will teach me to take a break from CAF! I've been away for a bit, and this is the kind of ultra-elevated artwork that I've been missing?!; I've learned my lesson. What a coup, Brian! This commission delivers on every conceivable level. I always knew that Tom was a compositional wizard, but this is just sick! If DC doesn't option this for a cover or promotional piece, then they're out of their collective minds. The execution, detail, grit, and timeliness of this composition are overwhelming. Among your very, very best, sir!
