For this year's cake, I actually wanted some reference to cherry blossoms on the cake, so I used a picture I had taken a week or so before near the house (in the Kenwood Neighborhood). The cherry blossoms were out abnormally early this year as it was the warmest winter on the East Coast in years.

The character on the cake is an early concept drawing of Blophish from the Fish Police - I couldn't just have cherry blossoms!
