I met Mr. Hembeck at my local comic book shop last spring. I didn't know he was making an appearance that day; I'd just stopped in to pick up my monthlies. There was a table with artwork set up, so of course I looked through. I thought, gee, this guy has a LOT of Fred Hembeck art... aaaaannnnndddd then the lightbulb went off. "Are YOU Fred Hembeck?" Why, yes! He was! Derp...

I had a lovely but brief chat with him, since my husband & baby were waiting outside in the car. Sorry, but Mommy needed to run! Got these sweet cards, though.
