Description

This is one of those Superman stories I remember reading when I was a kid. At that time, the Composite Superman was one of my favorite villians...and even though the story revealed that the C.S. wasn't the real mccoy, I was still very much intrigued by this particular page. Today, I like it for its artistic qualities...especially Jack Abels inks over Curt Swan's pencils. Even though he may not have had the fine inking ability of Murphy Anderson, Abel still had a good strong slick line that gave great depth to his figures...which made them pretty much jump off the page.

Great page--I like Abel's inks here. While the denoument was fairly typical of the day, watching the Man of Steel contend with what he thinks are three of his deadliest foes reborn and never flinching is one of my favorite Superman memories. Good stuff!

Another story I have great memories of. I liked the artistic team of Swan and Abel. The composite Superman, was and is, still one of my all time favorite villains of the '60's. The image of him in the second panel, and of Superman in the last panel, help make this a keepsake page.
