Description

Jack Kirby's pure pencils on Orion of the New Gods. The DC copyright date on the back is 1983. This is the same Orion that the Super Powers action figure is modeled after and I think this 'version' of Orion is drawn in this costume in the Super Powers Comic Book (not really sure). Of course this is not the classic Orion but why can't a super heroe (or super new god not from Earth) not have a change of costume (Supergirl did it all the time in the 70's)? Anyway pure Kirby Pencils late in 'The King's' career but still containing that Jack Magic. As a side note this piece is twice the size of a current modern art page

David, you keep on showing us really interesting stuff. I used to have a Darkseid piece from the same era. This is cool. I'm fascinated that Jack seems to have given him Captain Victory's face. I mean -- why not?

What a rare opportunity to view the blueprints of a intelectual and artistic comic art genius. These model sheets are magnificent and you should be proud to own such a high quality rendering. Congratulations!!!!
