Update 7-27-2012: I saw issue #11 of JLI in Barnes and Noble today, so I guess #9 wasn't the last issue after all, unless they're using Roman numerals.
I got this from Aaron Lopresti at SDCC 2012. The conversation went something like this:
He: It's the best Godiva page in the series. She was a last minute addition who became unexpectedly popular.
Me: Well yeah, she's GGA.
He: What's GGA?
Me: Good girl art.
It's like the time I told Vincent Van Gogh he was a great impressionist and he just stared at me. In retrospect, I may have been talking into his bad ear. This paragraph is a joke, the rest is true.
I thought Aaron meant, "best page so far," but no, JLI was canceled with this issue despite having about as many worse sellers in DC than better sellers. Vying for the award for the most ridiculous statement by a comic book company in 2012, DC explained that it wanted to give the characters a rest.
Yeah, look at poor Godiva, she's all worn out! Being lines on paper is hard work! I'm not sure what rest would consist of for imaginary people. I'm being silly, they obviously meant that the JLI characters are overexposed and the public needs a rest from seeing them everywhere. I mean one issue a month in a middling-circulation comic, that's way too much, this madness had to end!
The actual page, taken from the DC site is below. Matt Ryan is a superb inker. Godiva has super hair. Its use is not in evidence here.
