DescriptionWhat is a grail? If it is now owning when of your top 10 favorite covers of all time (possibly in the top 5) well then I'd consider this a grail. This cover stands up there to me with Avengers Annual #7, Avengers #127, Rom #3, Avengers #133, Avengers #122, Hulk #193, Thor #225, Defenders #13, Defenders # 32 and Avengers #100. These where the comics as a teenager that I bagged and tacked up to my wall so I could look at them everyday (and night). There was another dozen or so up there (but more on those when I buy another favorite) but these were the best of the best to me. Thank you Mitch!! Much appreciated. To top it off this comic came out in June 1981~ a very memorable time for me.Social/Sharing |

I can't say I'm the biggest Golden fan. But more than any artist of this period, Golden's art demands that the colorist be on their toes. I looked up this issue on comics.org. Even though the colors are subdued, I always thought Golden's linework left a lot of clues about how the art should be colored.
