Description

Tim Kirk painted this as an illustration for a poetry collection from Donald M. Grant Publishing in 1981, HEROES & HOBGOBLINS. Tim was very active in the F&SF field in the 1970s-'80s; his was the first Tolkien/Lord of the Rings calendar (with art by someone other than Tolkien) from Ballantine books in 1975 and he won 5 Hugo Awards. For the last few decades he's been designing theme parks (and additions to same) for Disney in the US and overseas, but Tim has started to accept commissions from collectors in recent years, too.

Thanks so much for posting this! Tim Kirk art is a rare sight these days, he needs to be cajoled back into the fantasy book illustration business!!
