Description
This is Page 6 of issue 21 of Legionnaires, probably my favorite incarnation of my favorite hero team, right after the wretched five-year gap and before yet another reboot. This issue introduces The Workforce, a rival hero team.

The big brain who turns into a gorilla is of special interest to me as he was invented by my old friend Mark Wade, who suggested him in a letter to the editor (and got credit). He was originally called "Evolvo Lad", who could evolve and de-evolve himself. He had been used in a 1960's Legion story and was featured on the cover. He got a lot of use in this incarnation. Actually, at last report , none of our ancestors were giant gorilla-like apes. Picky picky picky.

She of the prehensile hair was a throw-away character of the 60's, a Legion try out reject. She was not a long-haired girl who could control her hair. She was short-haired and could extend it into a spider web which she couldn't control (explains the name). She was rejected right before double header, whose power was having two heads stuck together.

The Legion didn't show good judgement in its tryouts, rejecting Life Lass, who could make inanimate things alive (God Girl would have been the name I'd have picked) but accepted Matter Eater Lad.

I was going to claim that I now had a full set of prehensile hair characters (her, Godiva, Medusa and Sedusa) but a quick Google revealed that there are dozens of them in comic books alone. Go figure.
