Description

Ken Bald, who once worked for Timely Comics, has come around to doing some commissions after doing newspaper strips of Dr. Kildair and Dark Shadows. Being that he was one of the original comic artists, I knew I had to get on his list. As far as character choice there were a few to choose from, Namorita being a close call, but in the end the choice seemed obvious to me that it had to be The Blonde Phantom. With a little direction as far as what I wanted (all I requested was a clock be featured in the art somewhere), I let Ken do his thing. I received an e-mail a couplke of weeks ago telling me that my commission was done and that Ken had finished it on his 92nd Birthday. How special and amazing is that.. my commission was finished by Ken Bald as he turned 92. Needless to say a quick mailing later and I had the piece in hand.

I opened the package knowing it was going to be good. I carefully cut the tape on the cardboard, knowing this was going to be good, and I looked at the art and I was blown away. Stunningly jaw dropping amazing was my reaction. Finished on his 92nd Birthday. Yeah.. amazing.

A huge thank you to Ken for doing commissions again and knocking this piece out of the park.
