Description
I had the extreme pleasure and honor of getting to chat with Paul at the Baltimore Comic Con 2010. I have loved his work for some time, especially 100%. It was so fun hearing the inside scoop about how Paul came up with Eloy's teakettle art project. Apparently, Eloy's teakettles were based on two separate events in Paul's life. The first was a man who set up 4 or 5 teakettles tuned to different notes, and he set them all to boil simultaneously, which was very discordant. The second was a time when a professional singer sang an aria inside a grain silo in front of Paul and some friends. I'm really inspired by Paul's use of those events to create a wholly new and believable artist character. I saw him again at the 2012 Baltimore Comic Con, where he added Haitous and Strel. Thank you again, Paul-- your art moves me!
