Wagner: Toy Biz Rogue action figure packaging artwork

Here's an interesting piece. You might notice that this piece of art bears a stunning resemblance to the cardback artwork found on the Toy Biz Rogue action figure released in the '90's. It's not exact though. While it's precise placement in the production process is unknown, it's my opinion that it represents the first step in the creation of the backer. I think Marvel sent this art to Toy Biz, and Toy Biz created their own painting to use on the toy (see the Iceman art found elsewhere in my gallery). The painted version isn't an exact copy though, and changes were made to it. You can see that the art for Rogue's face was altered somewhat between this concept piece and the finished backer. In any event, it's cool to see this stage survive, especially since so little Toy Biz pre-production stuff did.
