Description

I recently got my hands on three more of John's pages from this story. They're all incredibly detailed and brilliant, but this one page - wow, talk about a dream page. I've wanted this for absolutely years but haven't ever see it come up anywhere.

Kind of just assumed someone bought it from John's dad at that stall where he sold off a lot of his artwork.

The utter randomness to how it did eventually show up is pretty mind boggling (a query about on of John's pages lead the seller to say 'oh yeah, I have some more' - and then produces this!!)

He did indeed get them from that stall in Canterbury - so this page (along with the other two he sold to me) have been completely out of circulation since then.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at them. I'll try my best to get better scans and closeups to show all that fine detail.

Whats the story with his dad selling off all his art?

Everyone I've spoken to who has a piece of his art seems to have bought it from his dad at a market. Must have had an attic clear out! This was a long time ago mind you, so I'm sure he just didn't realize the future value of it all. I just hope a lot of it is still in safe hands. His pieces were being sold for bargain basement prices from what I've been told - I'm sure some folk bought pages on a whim without giving too much thought to what they were buying. That's why I was so shocked when a page of this quality turned up out of the blue. Fingers crossed I can come across some more...!
