JIGGS' CREATOR TELLS CORN BEEF LOSSES

George McManus, noted cartoonist and creator of the comic strip "Bringing Up Father," is shown as he appeared to tell the Los Angeles Country Grand Jury how he had lost several thousand dollars in a proposition to establish a corn beef factory. McManus was one of several celebrities called during the Jury's investigation of John Craig Hammond, whom authorities describe as a real-life J. Rugus Wallingford.
