Karate Kid vs. Galactus by Nate Stockman

I’ve had the idea for using Galactus as one of Karate Kid’s opponents for years, but it’s just never happened until now. In my mind the layout for this piece would have been a tiny Karate Kid doing a flying kick at Galactus’s face, and Nate did indeed send me a layout for that. But, he also sent a layout for what you see before you, which I thought was pure genius! I love everything about this piece and it is easily one of my favorite Karate Kid commissions ever. Just the idea of having Val Armorr knocking the Silver Surfer off of his board to use it to fly right at Galactus is great. But having Karate Kid also knock the Power Cosmic right out of the Surfer to use himself as sort of a cosmic iron fist against the Devourer of Worlds takes this piece two steps beyond awesome. Huge thanks to Nate for coming up with such a fantastic scenario and executing it perfectly!

How would this fight go? Exactly like the drawing above! Karate Kid knocks the Silver Surfer off of his board, taking the Surfer’s cosmic powers from him, which he then combines with his own awesome martial arts skills to create a new form of Cosmic Kung Fu which he then uses to take out The Big G. The End.

If you like this piece, then by all means go buy some of Nate's comics and/or commission him yourself.

Epic! I, too, love the idea that Nate offered up and executed to perfection. If he can take out the Surfer and confiscate his board, then Galactus may have his hands full in this one. Topnotch from design to execution. Kudos, Travis.

I can't follow your twisted logic leading to a Karate Kid victory over Galactus -- or even the Silver Surfer -- but I love this commission!
