Description
In the mid-1980s, I was pulled back into the comics hobby when I bought a large collection of gold-, silver- and bronze-age comics from a classified ad. I started hitting the regional conventions to sell the books, and it gave me a chance to see all the great new work that was being created at the time:
Dark Knight, Watchmen, and all the fantastic indy stuff.
My favorite from those upstart publishers was Silverheels. Painted comics! Imagine that. Those fantastic colors and amazing artwork... I could never find any Hampton originals back then. I was lucky enough to score a pin-up from issue 2 a few years back, but I almost never saw pages from the series for sale. Apparently there is a Santa Claus, 'cause I saw this one on Ebay last weekend, with an ending time late on Xmas Eve. I dropped in a bid, and hoped for the best... and here it is, in all its color and glory.
Happy New Year!

Damn... now I'm going to have to seek out these comics. This is just great! Such a shame that the industry has chosen the (mostly horrible) computer coloring over the rich, luscious color that artists can create with old school techniques.
