Description
I first encountered Kevin Wada's work when I saw his couture-inspired X-Girls Fashion Extravaganza. After he did two fantastic commissions for me, I asked him if he'd be interested in doing a series of pieces chronicling Kitty Pryde's dizzying array of costumes over the years. Kevin was fortunately up for the project, so I set about choosing a few of my favorites from Kitty’s sizable wardrobe. The end result was a series of 8 pieces, including (1) my favorite of the batch inspired by Dazzler from Uncanny X-Men #149, (2) her space pirate ensemble from Uncanny X-Men #167, (3) a variation on the traditional school costume from Uncanny X-Men #168, (4) an instant classic in green and brown from Uncanny X-Men #169, (5) an outfit that can only have been inspired by Flashdance from Uncanny X-Men #175, (6) her skating costume from Kitty Pryde & Wolverine Limited Series #1, (7) the Shadowcat costume from the Excalibur era, and (8) her costume from the X-Men Evolution cartoon.

love Kevin's work and while the other Kitty pieces are fantastic, I just love her expression in this one. it's kind of like Kitty coming to terms with being an X-Men, trying to be tough but also with a touch of insecurity? the face is fantastic

I totally agree! The face on this piece is definitely fantastic and you will be pleased to know that this was Kevin's favorite of the group.
