Description

This is a detailed sketch of an astronaut's face drawn on vellum, perhaps intended as the prelim for a Gray Morrow painted paperback cover. Unfortunately the vellum is a bit wrinkled, but it's still gorgeous art. This illustration had a previous published incarnation: that of a detailed black and white sketch in Phil Seuling's 1971 comic convention program book (see additional image posted). Apparently Gray later added a bit of color and mounted the piece.
