Description
This is one of the very rare pieces where one can see the progression from pre-lim to pencils to inked to published.

Please note, I own none of these; I just collected the images because they became available on the interwebs at about the same time. They are here for educational purposes only.

Here's the full deal:

  1. Marie Severin's Pre-Lim from the Heritage Auction

  2. Jack Kirby's Pencils from the CAF (link broken because page was removed)

  3. Frank Giacoia's inks from Heritage

  4. Published Cover

  5. All four side-by-side

I enjoyed putting it together. I've sent the files to the guy that owns the OA so I'm hoping he'll pick it up after I take this down.

I don't own any of it. I just put together the exhibition 'cause I think it's neat. I've sent the files to the guy that owns the OA. This will go down in a couple of days.

A terrific idea to pull these together like this. Marie once commented about how awkward she felt doing a prelim for Kirby.

Marie Severin did layouts for Kirby? Layouts that he followed pretty faithfully? I had no idea. Thanks for sharing the progression from prelim to published. It's an eye-opener!

I don't own any of the art. I just collected the images to show how it was done.
