The END of an era! The LAST ISSUE of WHAT IF...?!

This is the Original Art for the Cover of WHAT IF...? #114 (Nov. 1998) Starring SECRET WARS: 25 Years Later....Comes a New Generation of Heroes! This is the (fantastic!) LAST ISSUE of the long-running monthly WHAT IF...? series and asks the question: "What if the Marvel heroes and villains were trapped on The Beyonder's World at the end of SECRET WARS?" In this alternate reality, the heroes and villains make peace and build their own civilization. Eventually, they marry and begin having children. 25 years later, the ultimate result of the Secret Wars is the 2nd Generation super-team known informally as "THE SECRET WARRIORS": CRUSADER (Sarah Rogers, daughter of Captain America and Rogue and the leader of the team), BRAVADO (Balder Blake, son of Thor and The Enchantress, TORRENT (Kendall Logan, daughter of Wolverine and Storm), MUSTANG (Clinton Barton, Jr.--nicknamed "C.J.", son of Hawkeye and She-Hulk [NOTE: Mustang is green!!!]), and FIREFLY (Matthew Storm, son of The Human Torch and The Wasp). The villains of the story are MALEFACTOR (Vincent Von Doom, the scarred son of Doctor Doom and The Enchantress--and BRAVADO's half-brother), CHOKEHOLD (Trudy Creel, daughter of the Absorbing Man and Titania), MOLECULON (Tucker Reece, son of the Molecule Man and Volcana), GATOR (son of the Lizard--mother unrevealed), and RAZE (Teddy Gartwaite, son of the Wrecker--mother unrevealed). This story is a fascinating "alternate take" (of sorts) on Marvel's popular MC2 (Spider-Girl) Universe which features the Next Generation Marvel heroes and villains. This outstanding Cover was drawn by Gregg Schigiel (pencils) and Jose Marzan, Jr. (inks) and is autographed by both artists (as well as writer/co-creator Jay Faerber) in the "live" art area. NOTE: WHAT IF...? #114 is the only appearance to date of "THE SECRET WARRIORS" as a team, however Bravado and Mustang make a cameo appearance in AVENGERS FOREVER #11 (Nov. 1999), page 23.

Nice cover. I love alternative things like this especially when they are executed well. I wonder why they left the Enchantress off the cover though. Everyone else is accounted for? Cheers John
