Fabulous Free Spirit page firmly fixed in the "90" style! Can't say I find that Era of Cap, wearing shoulder pads and various types of body armor all that appealing, yet Mr. Hoover's ladies always were. He and Bulanadi made a nice team, excelling in and helping to define the 1990's mainstream comics look.
I corresponded with Dave off and on throughout the 2000's. What little contact i had with him, he was always kind, encouraging and seemed to be one of the good guys. He is missed.

I think Dave Hoover is one of the most criminally underrated artists in all of comics. You're absolutely right about this piece capturing the 90s vibe perfectly. Great stuff!

I always enjoyed Hoover's art on books like Quasar, Invaders and, of course, Cap. Pages like this drive home the point of how talented he was.

Stunning Captain America page by Dave Hoover! Love that opening panel with Free Spirit practically leaping off the page! Hoover and Bulanadi were so good at drawing female characters and they really demonstrate that here. The whole page is a perfect example of 1990s comic book goodness! Great pick-up!
