Mangaman by Barry Lyga (writer) and Colleen Doran (artist) tells the story of a "manga-verse" man who arrives in the "real" (read normal US comic universe) world and his adventures.
In the story, the young man from a manga-verse lands in our world, and while here, he falls in love. This page is the climax of the story where she agrees to stay with him in his world.
As the dad to three daughters, I've always had mixed emotions about this ending. Yes, they are happy, but what about the people that will never see her again? Will she miss them and come to resent him? That's my background conversation on this page. What do you think?
I enjoyed the book and the art and I think this may be the best page of the book.
P.S. I actually won my copy of the book from a contest that Colleen ran. It contains signatures from both Barry and Colleen. Yay me! :)
P.P.S., In case you didn't notice the published page and the signatures are in the Additional Images section. The drawn and printed pages are effectively identical since the book is B&W. :)
