Description

The Marvel monster books reprinting the Lee & Kirby and the Lee & Ditko classics got me through many a rainy weekend.

My older brothers had the pleasure of reading them when they were first printed in Tales of Suspense, Tales to Astonish, Journey Into Mystery and elsewhere. For me it was more a matter of creatures & monsters who were roaming, dwelling, on the loose and/or on the prowl.

Does anyone have an idea who inked this? I see Joe Sinnott credited in the GCD but was wondering if it might not be the late, great Dan Adkins. Experts?

Regardless, thanks go to Jeremy Radisich for this memento from a well-spent youth.

Whoever inked this, it's extraordinary inking on Kane. I'm going to guess and agree that this is "almost certainly" Adkins, as you've surmised. Terrific cover!

Love it! I can totally relate to your fondness for all those old DC & Marvel Ghost, Horror & BEM/ Bug Eye Monsters. I prefered Marvel's Ditko * Kirby master pieces too! I'm pretty good at knowing art styles too. I also known Joe since like 2004, I agree I believe your correct that Dan Akins inked this cover. His inks were much thick/ heavier then Jolt'in Joe's.
