Batman Adventures by Kelley Puckett, Mike Parobeck and Rick Burchett was among the first series to adapt the highly successful Batman: The Animated Series back into comics form.

While the more mainstream of DC's Bat-titles were mired in grim & gritty, overly convoluted plot lines, Batman Adventures focused on solid characterization and storytelling. They remain some of the finest examples of comics done right.

In this excellent sequence, thwarting a bank heist goes poorly for our caped crusader.
