Coats - Jealousy

Of the three, this was my wife's favorite and I can't say as I blame her... The lady as a beautiful centerpiece to nearly symmetrical wings comprised of what appear to be Aztec styled faces, with headdresses made up of Skulls, Faces, planets, and an awesome set of eyeballs. The mountain background surrounding the waterfall behind the woman has stones made up of little faces and again... extraordinary detail...

I am simply amazed at this guys work and glad to be having it heading my way shortly.

This is also a piece that draws you in the more you look at pick out the little detail Tom blended into this amazing picture. Truly it's not symmetrical, but I failed to come up with a better name.

I could have chosen better mat colors, but I sort of wanted to get rid of the inner green, and having it as the second choice allowed me to blend away some of its very loud tone! Ever since ordering all the varying flavors of color from Blick, I figured out why some of these are not carried in common hobby stores!

Hopefully the close-up pics will help you to see what a full picture of the piece cannot. All the pieces were 18x24 and drawn entirely to the edge! The more I look at this, the more I think Tom may have known the little mushroom!

I recently had the opportunity to communicate with the artist, and learned the two opposing faces represented two men desiring the same woman, and a woman perplexed with the sorrow of having to choose. He also told me, his desire was to capture the beauty of Kathy Ireland in the woman's face, though he didn't feel he did a very good job... Myself, I believe he captured beauty throughout the entire piece!
