Description

This photo, lifted from the Brother's 1978 exhibition book, provides a fascinating glimpse into their working process. Many alternations were made, perhaps a group of reference photos employed. Most notable are the enhanced size of hands and faces, the widening of the triangular composition to a wider, sturdier base, the relative position of the characters and the emphasized stoic manner of the knight and warrior woman. The Brothers clearly didn't copy, they used these pictures as a tool to help them more fully realize their artistic vision.
