Description

This daily from 1968 features a character based on Alex Raymond's striking bearded "Count Koro" from the FLASH GORDON Ice Kingdom of Mongo storyline. Note how Al leads the viewer using Von Krell's cigarette holder as the cross-over link between the three panels. Al also composes the daily so that the "missing" corner panel in the lower left of panel two is mirrored in a "missing" lower right corner to panel three. In the additional images you can see the colouring of the original as it appears today with the charming zip-a-tone browns.

The original has an image area of 17 1/8" x 5" on a slightly larger board.

Obtained in a trade with Anthony Sticatto in September 2013.
