Description

While meeting Bernie and Liz and getting to go through all this fabulous art, I ran across this in their portfolio. The picture probably came out pretty big, but the actual is only in the 3x5 to 4x6 range, just slightly off square...

The story Bernie, Liz, and Steve Niles told and showed supporting photos of, was Bernie having provided this to his eldest son (John) to fashion a life size prop which depicted Frankenstein's head as if it was entirely encased in a block of ice.

The pictures I saw showed this came out wonderfully and they all agreed how awesome it looked, but they all equally agreed as to how heavy and difficult it would be to set up at a show, so there was no display!!!

I meant to ask Steve Niles if he might share a photo of the display, but in my excitement towards the end of the show, I failed. I am hoping an email requesting a pic or two will result in picture here. If not, send messages yourself and maybe he'll put up the piece in his gallery.

It might just drum up even more anticipation for the soon to be release Frankenstein Alive, Alive Issue # 3. It was quite the buzz at the show, and Bernie seemed quite confident it would emerge before the end of the year. Anyway, this little piece will also take me one step further towards my Yard of Art project... I'm down to just needing one or two more pieces to get started...

Update 10/9/2013:

This morning I emailed Steve and he kindly sent me back the pictures he shared at Dallas Fan Days and I've added them into this gallery piece. I'm also going to add a standalone gallery for this crediting John Wrightson. This may not be the pencil/pen/paint we're all use to here, but it's definitely an art!!!
