DescriptionComplete story from Two-Fisted Tales #32 (EC, Mar-Apr 1953).The splash page has been framed since I bought it in the 1980's. Wood used Craftint extensively in this story. Craftint doubletone paper (DuoShade is another brand) is one of those things an ink illustrator had in their toolbox before the advent of the digital toolset or even rubdown tone systems like Zip-a-Tone. It wasn’t cheap and it gradually fell out of use. Graham Ingels also used it to good effect in "Marriage Vow" on the splash and the bottom of page 5. Provenance: Russ Cochran's Art Auction #19 (1984) Social/Sharing |
