Some may think I didn't choose a good cell when I picked up this B&W piece. But keep in mind (a) Season 1! (b) Episode 2! (c) How many production B&W cells do you ever see? Honestly I am just thrilled to have it in my collection. In fact, I might write "B&W is thrilling" 100 times on the blackboard!

There are probably a bunch of us that remember when the truly FIRST Simpsons appeared on the Tracey Ullman show. But it just blew me away. Then when it became a series, I watched that show faithfully the first 3 or 4 years. Although I continued to watch as many as I could, life didn't allow for as much as I like. And now my KIDS are watching it and think it is great. As everyone knows, The Simpsons is the longest-running prime-time animated series and longest-running sitcom in the United States.

For those that are interested: With the debut of the series, Fox subcontracted production to several international studios, located in South Korea. Artists at the U.S. animation studio, Film Roman, draw storyboards, design new characters, backgrounds, props and draw character and background layouts, which in turn become animatics to be screened for the writers at Gracie Films for any changes to be made before the work is shipped overseas. The overseas studios then draw the inbetweens, ink and paint, and render the animation to tape before it is shipped back to the United States to be delivered to Fox three to four months later.
