Description

I had my eye on this piece for a while. It was used as promotional art for the Images of Shadowhawk series that Keith Giffen did back in 1993, and for whatever reason the image has been really memorable to me these last 20 plus years. Fortunately I was able to dig up an old copy of the ad in an issue of the Savage Dragon and scanned it so that others can see the art in use (see additional images section). This image was also printed as a pin-up in the last issue of Images of Shadowhawk (issue #3) along with some other Giffen pieces that were used to promote the series.

Stylistically this - along with the entire Images of Shadowhawk mini-series - was done in Giffen's Trencher style. I've always found this artistic experiment by Giffen to be fascinating, and I'm happy to own such a nice example of it.
