DescriptionMilton Caniff would have been a very tough act to follow, but George Wunder pulled it off. He managed to infuse the strip with the same air of exotic adventure that Caniff did so well. The Wunder version, circa 1960's, is one of the memories from my childhood, when newspapers produced real adventure strips. I well remember opening those brightly colored Sunday pages to follow the crew's adventures. Nippon and Nazis had been replaced by Communists, but those adventures were still grand.Social/Sharing |
