Beautifully rendered illustration from 1981 right around the same time period as the Legendary Avengers Annual #10 that featured both characters. The interesting part is Avengers Annual 10 was released August 4, 1981, and this illustration is dated August 7, 1981, just 3 days after that book came out. Did the person who requested this piece just finish reading that book and was inspired to ask for 2 of the characters from that issue, who can say. This was later published in Lone Star Comics Catalog #106(1982).

Great pick up! Golden's talent is undeniable...is there a comic more universally loved then his Avengers Annual 10!?! It's on A LOT of CAFer's want list! Congrats!!!!

Thank you everyone for the kind words about this Vintage Gem! What I love so much about this piece is the fact that this Blast from the Past was never seen by me before. It was like reading a classic book for the first time, or seeing a vintage, classic movie for the first time- Magic! There is no secret about my love for Michael's art, especially from the time period I grew up remembering and longing for each new addition to his legendary work. From Micronauts to Star wars 38, Dr Strange 55, Avengers Annual 10 and his Amazing issues of Marvel Fanfare! These are among some of my All Time favorite works of his art!
