DescriptionHQ Project piece #2: Ken Branch with Robin. In a similar vein to the Inkwell Award's Joe Sinnott Inking Challenge, I've started my very own "Harley Quinn Project" to see what the results are after having different artists work their inking magic on a Harley Quinn prelim piece by Mark Brooks. I purchased the prelim piece from Kirk Dilbeck in 2013. I don't know the full history behind it and neither did Kirk, but I believe Mark may have ended up going in a different direction than what is depicted in the prelim. However, the pencils were very tight with just a few minor details missing. So here is what I was looking for from the commissioned artist: The pencils blue lined on a 17” wide by 11” tall comic board—in proportion to the drawing. Leaving out all those heavy blue-line borders and lettering, too. Just a nice clean image of Harley on the couch with the required finishes: the ruffle on her right arm, the doll under her right leg (yes, from what I can tell that is either an incomplete doll or teddy bear, leaning on a pillow), etc. Anything beyond the obvious finishes, was left to their artistic vision. The only thing I'm asking of each artist who does a piece for me is that they each make the doll a different stuffed "Bat Family" character. Social/Sharing |

Dude, I missed this. I love what Ken did on this. Very simple but the small details in the couch and Robin doll are great!! Congrats.
