This was done as for the cover to GOAD - THE MANY MOODS OF PHIL HALE. There was also a second dust jacket which had an older piece on it.

The real dynamics of this piece come through best when you get to stand in front of the canvas and take it all in. I always find it interesting how Phil's work seems so much more polished off when printed and small, but when you get to see the actual paintings, those brush strokes simply throb with kinetic energy that just can't be faked. I nev get tired of looking at Phil's work, new or old. Seriously cool.

This piece is breathtaking and it is even better in person. And it's huge! Was very glad this one was included in the Del art show last year. Was a real treat to see it. Glad to see it here on CAF
