�� At Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, I sought out Adam Warren repeatedly and made art purchases all three days. I saw Bubblegum Crisis designer Kenichi Sonoda stop to visit Adam and left a couple gifts, a pro dojinshi and a shopping bag he designed for his father's sweet shop. I've owned page 24 for several years and chose page 23 at SDCC last year. On Sunday, I bought this one to have the complete three-page sequence depicting a battle between the Knight Sabers and a rampaging boomer. Priss is firing in panel 3. Linna and Sylia land on either side of the boomer in the final panel. Adam signed in the bottom margin, then I brought the page to Kenichi Sonoda who signed in the upper margin. The last time I saw Adam Warren and Kenichi Sonoda together was in 1993.

�� Bubblegum Crisis is the story of four women who don armored suits to form the Knight Sabers. Set in Megatokyo in the years 2032 and 2033, they fight the Genom Corp. This began as a direct-to-video animation program in Japan and became one of the first officially licensed American video releases from Animeigo. Toren Smith of Studio Proteus got the license for an American comic book and released BGC Grand Mal through Dark Horse.

�� I saw Adam Warren at Fanimecon 1993 and he was showing off his work for the then upcoming BGC miniseries. I was awed by the vast improvement in his art from the early Dirty Pair stories and said so. Adam turned to indicate BGC character designer Kenichi Sonoda and said he was following a master. Sonoda's comic works Gunsmith Cats and Cannon God Exaxxion are available from Dark Horse.

�� Credits for inking the series include Adam Warren, Robert DeJesus, Harry Candelario, Dave Johnson, Tom Raney, Karl Story, and Brad Vancata. Lettering is by Tomoko Saito. Adam said he did all the early pages by himself, but had to call in help to finish.
