Description

This is an interesting early golden age piece. This is dated December 1941, and almost certainly was on the stands before the US entered World War II, though you could hardly get more timely than having this on the stands during Pearl Harbor.

The depiction of the Japanese prisoner is not as repulsive and was typical after Pearl Harbor. Apparently, he has the ability to turn his head 180 degrees around and uses it frequently. The scene is truly chock full of action. This is only page 2, they must have really gotten down to business on page 1.

This is a backup story starring Jeep Milarky, entitled, "Milarkey! You're to umpire the mock war in...." The actual Rangers, except presumably Ranger Girl(former Miss America title holder turned WAAC pilot) wore surprisingly gay loose-legged shorts and helmets. Here, Jeep Malarky) and Nurse Lt. Kitty Tone chase the Axis prisoners with their, apparently, flying car. The arts is by Al Walker, of whom I know nothing.
