Amazing Spider-Man #1 Sketch Cover Prelim Part 02

Here we have a fully-shaded rendering of the original figure. Admittedly the hands were one of the hardest aspects of this sketch; there's realism (ala Romita Jr) and hyperrealism (ala Bagley or MacFarlane). I tried to get some of both. The other problem was the foreshortening of the lower body. For that I referenced a few dozen positions Spidey's been drawn in. Probably mentioned this in part 1 but this is for those who are just getting caught up. The webbing on the costume is handy for outlining the musculature and avoid that flatness, y'know? Also threw in some light feathering on the light areas of the arms and legs that are closest to the front to show distinction and texture difference. That red spider is also a consideration; my contemporaries draw the legs on that bug really close together or spaced out, short or so long it hugs the back. I tried to strike a balance to maintain the perspective. As for the back itself, I may redo it in order to get the muscle groups correct. All in all it's shaping up. Hope you guys agree.
