Description

I've always liked John Romita Jr's redesign of Mephisto from the pages of Daredevil. No offense to the original look, but a sneering red guy in a cape never impressed me too much. Romita's interpretation, though, just shouts "Eeeeevil!"

Anyway, JR Jr was doing sketches for charity at a NYC convention in May 1999, I believe raising money for an animal shelter. I'm sure he was somewhat surprised to get a request for Mephisto. But he was nice enough to do a head sketch for ten dollars. It came out well, and it was for a good cause. And you have got to love the irony, drawing the devil to help raise money for charity!
