Convention sketches are usually, by their very nature, rather quick drawings. The fact is that most conventions, with their large & noisy crowds and cramped table space, are hardly an ideal setting for artists to do their best work. Bearing all that in mind, getting just a quick head sketch is very understandable. That said, sometimes, somehow, artists will create amazing convention sketches. The kind that, when you return to pick up your sketchbook and see what they have drawn, your jaw just hits the floor. Here are some of my favorite convention sketches, both the ones that blew me away, and the ones that gave me some good memories.
