Description

Okay, this was actually done at a store signing, not a convention. Close enough, I say. I got this back in February 1996, when Steve Crespo was promoting the Mister Miracle series he was pencilling. I figured I'd ask him for something related to the New Gods. And, since Darkseid had shown up in the book he was drawing, I knew he was familiar with the character. As he was drawing this, he realized he might not have room for Darkseid's legs, hence improvising by having him standing in water. I suggested that we could always say Darkseid was wading through a pool of blood (yeah, I'm morbid like that). As he was working on this, Steve also commented that it was a little-known fact that underneath the skirt, Darkseid wears a garter belt & stockings. There's an indelible image for you!
