The 1st 'Avengers Assemble' cover! The roster is re-shuffled + Captain America becomes team leader w/first appearance of Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch as new members. Inks by Sol Brodsky.

Unvarnished scan of this cover which is trimmed to the art. All blurbs found below the Avengers masthead are original hand lettering.

As far as I know, this is the earliest known Avengers cvr. in existence. I feel especially fortunate as this one was always a favorite of mine.
